The future role of postgraduate training

ESRC UK wide consultation follows advice from Postgraduate Directions

Following extensive investigations and consultations with key players in the sector, a report was submitted to ESRC on 'The Future Role of ESRC in Postgraduate Training: Developing the Evidence Base'.

Following its receipt and acceptance of this report - which is now published on the ESRC website - the Council is carrying out a series of regional 'town meetings' across the UK and as a result of all this work, senior academics from UK Universities will discuss proposed revisions to the postgraduate training framework provided by ESRC.

It is likely that these revisions will be significant and will have far reaching consequences - some of which will extend beyond the immediate remit of ESRC.
