In addition to her substantive research she has a particular interest in evaluation and evaluation methodology. She has published widely - including a text on evaluation. She has also been Editor in Chief of a major international journal and has drawn on this experience to run workshops on writing for publication and peer review.
Postgraduate Directions was set up in 2006 to offer consultancy and workshops within the field of postgraduate education. Senior Partners Howard and Jackie Green bring their considerable, combined experience in the fields of postgraduate education and strategic management to institutions, departments and individuals looking for inspiration and practical, realisable solutions.
In addition to their individual research careers Howard and Jackie have researched into, and written extensively about, research degree study. They have led numerous national training workshops on issues related to postgraduate education and have contributed to well over one hundred workshops and conferences worldwide. They offer skills of both managing in research environments and of delivery of workshops and seminars. They have an accumulated knowledge of all aspects of research degree management and have researched topics within the field of research degree study such as examination, provision of professional doctorates and confidentiality of doctoral theses.
Howard and Jackie's work has ranged from the reviewing of the QAA Special Audit for institutions, reviewing of institutional regulations and advising on the development of training programmes to co-researching and writing the HEFCE Improving Standards document and working with QAA on the 2004 Postgraduate Code of Practice.
